Lebua Sky Bar

If you arrive before 18:00 (when Sky Bar opens) you can still have a drink and enjoy the view from Distil. This comfortable oyster and whisky bar has an outdoor terrace with a comfortable cushioned sofa area. The view isn’t as good as the main restaurant and bar but it’s slightly more relaxed as no-one is pushing and shoving to take pictures. Because of the popularity of Sky Bar it can sometimes feel like you are at a cattle market. The staff usher you down the steps at an impressive speed, and won't let you take pictures from the top of the stairs. Once you are in the bar area there are no seats and if you are only having a drink it can feel a bit claustrophobic.

Craft Bar Silom

Craft Silom is sister bar to the larger Craft outlet on Sukhumvit Soi 23. It is located on the ground floor of the Holiday Inn Silom, on the side of the hotel that faces onto Surasak Road. To get to it, ride the BTS to Surasak Station, and exit the station using Exit 1. Once you reach street level, double back to your left, 180 degrees, and walk 100 meters along Sathorn Road to Surasak Road, where you turn right, passing behind the large Police box that sits on the corner of that intersection. You then walk along Surasak Road for 400 meters – it takes six or seven minutes. You will pass the large Jewelry Trade Center complex on your right

Patpong Night Market

After recently cleaning up its act, Patpong's become one of the 'must' night shopping destinations for avid shoppers. Found in the built-up area known as Silom, the place is always busy and chaotic with all the commotion from the Go-Go bars nearby and lots of foreign tourists. This market in Bangkok's notorious nightlife district is often the first and easiest stop for many tourists just arriving to Bangkok, whilst lodging at one of several mid-to-upper-end hotels in Silom. Be warned though, the quality and prices of most items sold are about as real and trustworthy as the girls shaking their wares in go-go bars flanking the area. Both market and go-go bars seem to complement each other well, but remember not to be fooled by first impressions, and to bargain hard.
